Our world today is fascinated by the idea of freedom. It is an aspiration of individualist societies, but it is often misunderstood. Freedom is intimately connected to accountability. Without it we’re doomed.

In an era of unprecedented divisive opinion, where pessimistic tribalism is polarising the people of God, we need a new narrative on which to base our unity. The sooner we recognise God’s grace in one another, the more effective we will be in mission.

Regardless how well maintained, relationships can break and need to be repaired. It is a rare gift to be able to forgive easily, but it is a gift nonetheless. Forgiveness requires one to ‘forget’ the offence. It is a big ask, but it forms the heart of mission.
